OK friends we have teased you long enough…it’s time to let you in on our very special project and to ask for your help!
You all know we love to help others but this time it is our BIGGEST attempt to do just that and it is for a group of people that are extremely important to all the band.
Willie from the band is a former firefighter and he was so proud of his job that he even got the rest of the band to be firefighters for a day and we LOVED it too! We loved that, like the band, there is a real feeling of family amongst firefighters across the world but what stuck with us the most is that these men and women would do anything they could to help those who need them the most.
We want to give something back to them, something that shows how much firefighters mean to us all, something that not only says thank you but is also a lasting and fitting tribute to firefighters and especially to the 343 Heroes from the Fire Department of New York who made the ultimate sacrifice and saved thousands of lives 15 years ago on September 11, 2001.
We have therefore recorded a charity single. The single is called ‘343 The Fallen’ and is a very powerful track that Willie has frequently played as a tribute to firefighters. All the proceeds from this track will be donated to two very important fire service charities. The charities are:
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Family Support Trust
The FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums.
It is really important to the band that we raise as much money as we possibly can for these selfless heroes and we really need all of you to help us, as only together can we make an enormous difference and show our firefighters what they really mean to us.
We need you to first of all watch the emotive video that we have made with our friends 'airborne lens'. The video is designed to accompany the track and is also a special tribute to firefighters and is something we can all use to share that feeling with others.
Secondly…and this is really important…we need you to buy the track and if you can afford it (and no donation is too small) please consider making a donation via our 'go fund me’ page.
Lastly we need you to share this post with all your friends and ask if they can help us too. You see just like the fire service this really is a team effort but it is something we can all feel proud of and something that allows us all to give something extra back.
